If you’re ever in the mood for a feel good movie – you know the kind – the one that makes you think, laugh and cry all at the the same time….watch ‘ The Abyss’ with Ed Harris and Mary Mastrantonio. And I dare you not to cry when they try to revive Mary…. good stuff, good stuff all around.

In Plain Sight is the ‘cop show’ that has that unique angle of featuring the Witness Protection Program and the U. S. Marshals that help relocate and protect endangered witnesses to a new safe life.
In it’s third season In Plain Sight is going through the usual tinkering to fine tune it’s cast and keep us interested. It doesn’t have to work too hard. It already has three great front people: Mary McCormack, Frederick Weller, and Paul Ben-Victor.
What really appeals to this spud however is the writing. Fast paced dialogue, insightful musings and razor sharp wit make up for sometime mediocre plot twists. In fact, I have to admit that for the most part I really don’t get interested in the actual storyline, I’m just basically waiting around to see what Mary and Marshall and Stan have to say to one another.
In recent episodes Steven Weber has made an appearance as an FBI agent who may prove to be a romantic foil for our taciturn Mary. He certainly fit in with just the perfect tactical approach.
Keep on the lookout for In Plain Sight.

Okay – this is a no-brainer. Four talented actresses in a tried and true format – what more could one ask for? We know it’s Golden Girls revamped but WHO CARES? This is fun. Women of a certain age becoming a little uncertain about what’s ahead and how to handle it. Finding comfort, a new home and some dearly needed emotional security in a place that considers them HOT!
Betty White, Valerie Bertinelli and Jane Leeves — all terrific but my favorite is definitely Wendy Malick. She has a devotion to character that seamlessly flows from one scene to the next. Her rapid fire delivery given in that droll, heard it all voice works every line to the max. Here’s hoping the girls keep it hot in Cleveland for a good while to come.

Confidential Agent – 1945 – Charles Boyer and Lauren Bacall – Placed during the time of the Spanish Civil War – Boyer is an agent sent to England to purchase coal. While the plot creates enough tension and excitement with Boyer beset by murderous enemies the movie held a lot of appeal for its odd little twists and turns and some very quirky side characters
And for a great example on how to communicate intense feelings through the eyes and only very slight shifts in facial features it was a gem. Satisfying late night fare.
